Helping young entrepreneurs and farmers succeed.

Cambodian Entrepreneurs are why we exist. We give local farmers and entrepreneurs the opportunity to experiment with business. We believe this experiential learning frees creative potential.

Guidance and support

With partners like ONOW, we assist communities, particularly entrepreneurs, in the Cambodian countryside by providing tailored tools and resources to help them succeed in their unique contexts.

Through partnerships, we will leverage our collective expertise and experience to develop tools, curricula, and methodologies that enable organisations to support entrepreneurs more effectively. In addition, we have learned from a decade of experience through Mission Alliances Community development work here in Cambodia supporting producer groups, farmers and entrepreneurs, recognising that off-the-shelf solutions often need to meet the unique circumstances of everyday entrepreneurs.

Growth is just a click away

One of the most significant challenges facing entrepreneurs in rural areas, especially women, is access to digital and financial education. In Cambodia, digital and financial tools are readily available. Still, the need for more education and training has made it difficult for rural farmers and entrepreneurs to access them.

To address this issue, the Business for Development Project (BfD) launched our chatbot Roksi powered by ONOW, that features engaging animations and learning modules on digital literacy, financial saving goals setting, and other relevant topics. This chatbot is specifically designed to support rural farmers and entrepreneurs, helping them to access the resources they need to succeed.

Smart farming

Our chatbot Roksi seeks to provide financial literacy curriculum design and create a mixture of video-based live-action and short-text content that addresses the needs of farmers. The users will start the engagement with a chatbot to guide them to their tailored and relevant requirements. They can ask and answer questions leading to relevant courses and curricula, get technical assistance and meet a personal coach to support and walk alongside them. This curriculum and the chatbot are designed to be used within telegram, allowing farmers to access critical financial education resources directly from their mobile devices.

We recognise that sustainable success in the rural contexts of Cambodia requires tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of local communities. By developing innovative tools, curricula and methodologies, Business for Development is helping to empower entrepreneurs and improve the overall economic and social well-being of communities in need.
